About us
Otternes Farmyard is a cluster og houses situated between Aurland and Flåm, in the county of Aurland. There are today 26 houses, and the farm has been inhabited for 400 years!
Otternes is a national treasure of culture & history, a beautiful place with a magnificent view of the Aurlandsfjord. We hope to be able to give both guests and the local people in Aurland a taste of the World Heritage.

The Estate Madam
Laila Kvellestad is the manager of Otternes. She is an educated agronomist, and have also worked as a mountain ranger for many years. In 2001 Aurland Nature- & Cultural Heritage (ANKA) reopened Otternes as a tourist attraction. In 2006 Laila took over the business at Otternes and is now running it as her private company. To make the farm as vivid as possible she runs the farm in addition, and keeps sheep as farmanimals.
Ruth Sylvi
Ruth Sylvi is educated in travel & tourism, and since 2000 she has been working with different hotels and tourist establishments in Aurland. She has worked closely with ANKA & Otternes through her work.
